One of Victoria's small drought-affected communities is enjoying a massive economic boost, thanks to 12,000 scouts.
The Australian Jamboree, a scout camp which takes place every three years, is being held at Elmore, a farming community in the state's north.
Volunteer marketing manager Andrew Taylor says the scouts are trying to support the locals wherever possible.
"We're sourcing $700,000-worth of food locally for example, we're buying from local suppliers, we've hired local tradespeople, when we've had a shortfall of labourers we've hired locals to do that kind of work." he said.
"But on top of that of course we have all the financial impact of the visitors and the scouts themselves when they are out spending their money, the sums are about $10.5m we'll leave in the local community".
